WELCOME TO THE PRACTICE

HISTORY OF THE PRACTICE

This practice was founded by Dr Renwick shortly after the First World War when the surgery was located in Bournbrook Road. He was succeeded by Dr Ronnie Bence who was joined by Michael Hickman in 1963. As the surgery premises were no longer available when Dr Bence retired in 1968, the practice moved to a location in Pershore Road when Pat Ireland and Gill Platt entered into partnership. After several abortive attempts to acquire more spacious surroundings, the practice was able to transfer to the present purpose-built surgery in December 1992. Michael Hickman retired in 1995 and Henry Davis joined the practice. Laura Rummens joined in June 2000 and Debbie Atkinson joined in May 2002. Dr S G Platt retired in September 2004. Dr Ireland retired as a partner in September 2005 and Dr Haq joined the practice in October 2005. We view health care as a partnership between patients, their carers and all the practice staff.
